Two days ago U.S. Special Forces captured a terrorist who played a key role in organizing and carrying out the terrorist attack against the United States Embassy in Benghazi, Libya, which resulted in the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods. The terrorist was originally not identified but his name has now been revealed as Mustafa Al-Imam, who is actually the second terrorist to be arrested in connection with the deadly attack on the American Embassy in Benghazi, Libya. Ahmed Abu-Khatallah, captured in 2014, and currently on trial in Washington D.C., was the first to be captured, and it is believed he is the mastermind behind the attack. Abu Khatallah faces 18 charges connected to the deadly attack that on September 11, 2012, including the murder of an internationally protected person, providing material support to terrorists and destroying US property while causing death.
Speaking on the capture of Mustafa Al-Imam, President Donald Trump released a statement saying, “Yesterday, on my orders, United States forces captured Mustafa al-Imam in Libya. To the families of these fallen heroes: I want you to know that your loved ones are not forgotten, and they will never be forgotten.”
BREAKING: Trump: Benghazi suspect ‘will face justice’ in US for alleged role in 2012 attack that killed ambassador, 3 others.

The United States government claims to have a video, which shows Al-Imam at one of the sites of the embassy attack, and officials connected to Al-Imam’s capture claim to have been following him for a period of time before his capture. After being captured, Al-Imam was flown to a United States Navy ship where he was then transferred to the United States for federal prosecution. The Trump Administration has not stated the timetable for the prosecution proceedings of Mustafa Al-Imam.
Unlike the capture of Osama Bin-Laden, Libyan officials were notified of the operation to capture Al-Imam. Thankfully, the operation was a success and all special operators and service members involved in this operation are safe and unharmed. Adding to his statement on this matter, President Donald Trump continued, saying, “The United States will continue to support our Libyan partners to ensure that ISIS and other terrorist groups do not use Libya as a safe haven for attacks against United States citizens or interests, Libyans, and others.”
In the immediate aftermath of this attack on the United States Embassy in Benghazi, the Obama Administration, to include then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and National Security Advisor Susan Rice, claimed the attack was in response to an anti-Muslim video. This now proven lie plagued Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential election and with the recent capture of Al-Imam, more details behind the attack should be forthcoming. The fake story perpetuated by the Obama Administration that this attack was the result of an anti- Muslim video will once again be headline news.
Speaking about the capture of Mustafa Al-Imam, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said, “I am grateful to the FBI, our partners in the intelligence community and the Department of Defense who made this apprehension possible. The United States will continue to investigate and identify all those who were involved in the attack – and we will hold them accountable for their crimes.”
The deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods have been accurately chronicled in the best selling book, 13 Hours, and is a firsthand account of what really happened on the ground in Benghazi, Libya fateful night along with a detailed account of all the denied requests for added security as well as fire support during the attack. The book and subsequent movie, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, is the most detailed and accurate source of information Americans have access to in order to understand what our brave service members and Ambassador experienced when they were attacked.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has not commented on these most recent developments and what it could mean for any legal proceedings she may face in the wake of information revealed by Mustafa Al-Imam, or the ongoing trial of Ahmed Abu-Khatallah. The arrest of Al-Imam and Abu-Khatallah may just be the tip of the iceberg, as it is clear that U.S. officials working under the Obama Administration, were at best negligent and derelict in their duty which caused the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods.
