The land of vegans and SJW’s seems to get more and more added to it with each passing day. Not a minute goes by that people with some outrageous protest about something that truly makes very little sense aren’t out in the street doing something wacky to get the attention of the world for their cause. Turkey protesting is no different.
Recently Peta started a campaign to get the masses to not eat turkey for the holidays, stating that “we are all the same.” Yes folks, we are nothing more than turkeys, and as such we should not be eating them because that would be cannibalism! Or so Peta wants us all to believe. They are so hard in their stance that members recently took to wearing diapers and laying on fake cutting boards with rubber turkeys in areas of large populations.
This insanity was caught on camera in Tennessee as well as South Carolina.
According to the Commercial Appeal :
An animal rights protester posed as a turkey on a cutting board Tuesday at lunchtime at Beale and B.B. King.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals staged the pro-vegan demonstration asking people to envision themselves in the turkey’s position this holiday.
“How would you feel if a human being were stuffed, roasted, and served for Thanksgiving dinner?” PETA said in a news release ahead of the demonstration.
Jacek Prus, 23, lay shirtless and wearing beige shorts next to two faux turkey carcasses on a makeshift cutting board under a banner reading “We are all the same.”
“All animals have flesh, organs, and feelings, and none wants to die violently for someone else’s meal,” PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman said in a statement. “PETA is calling on caring people to give turkeys a break this Thanksgiving and make their holiday table a place of compassion for all beings.”
Passersby stopped to take photos and received pamphlets from PETA with information about turkeys. The pamphlets asked for people to “give turkeys a reason to be thankful — go vegan today.”
Here is the post that went viral on KCTV 5’s Facebook Page:
PETA itself has made a statement about their diaper wearing turkey protests stating that:
How would you feel if a human being were stuffed, roasted, and served for Thanksgiving dinner? That’s a question PETA asked Baltimore and Pittsburgh residents as PETA volunteers took to the streets to lie nude in a “trussed-up” pose beside two giant “turkey carcasses” on top of a cutting board. The scene included a banner that read, “Put Yourself in Their Place. Go Vegan This Thanksgiving.”
Every year, billions of animals have their bodies chopped up, labeled, and wrapped in cellophane for the supermarket meat case. Turkeys are sensitive, smart animals who can feel pain and who form families and friendships when given the chance. Factory farms deny animals everything that’s natural and important to them, confining them to filthy, cramped cages, stalls, and sheds—where a steady diet of drugs keeps them alive only long enough to be sent to the slaughterhouse.
What I find ironic is the rubber turkeys appear to be plucked and prepared for the oven already. Wouldn’t it have served a better purpose to have live turkeys, or at least giant replicas of turkeys before the slaughter and plucking took place? I protest PETA using fake turkeys that look dead already! It makes me hungry and they are violating my attempt to diet!
Come on people, this is absolutely absurd. Stop trying to kill our traditions already! Turkey is a natural form of food that people have hunted for years and farm turkeys are no different. Turkeys are FOOD! It is time to let it go. I mean does PETA not feel bad for consuming all of the vegetables that could be used to feed all of these animals they want to save? If they round up all the animals but continue to eat the vegetables then the animals will starve and THAT is way more inhumane than eating the turkeys!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!
